Expert in Graphic Arts at the Rietveld Akademie in Amsterdam, he has extensive experience teaching introductory courses in drawing, creative painting, composition and color theory, as well as in relation to plastic expression. His activity is a deep and critical reflection on humanity. It is an ecological song for a lost mankind which searches for communication and love. Norberto says that he is painting reality, a reality which is plenty of destruction, and plenty of disintegration. His art steams from the need of breaking ISOLATION and FEAR: landscapes implore a world where its parts become a unity.

Artist by profession, his work has been exhibited in various international museums and cultural institutions.

Norberto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1953. For political reasons he emigrated to Amsterdam in 1979 where he lived for 7 years. He lives in Granada from 1986 where he has developed the activity which is covered in this exhibition.

His technique is meticulous. The treatment of colour and forms is like a battle with the elements. Stemming from a sketch of the scene he refine the paintings until he agrees with the result. One colour after another colour, one tone after another tone, one detail after another detail.

#Educational

Approach

educational approach

Real-World Learning: To understand the world we live in outside of our privilege bubbles. Showing and guiding students through real-world realities is a main focus for us.

The Experiential Learning Approach: To build knowledge, awareness, and character through experiences and hands-on activities placing the participants in the center of the learning process.

An Intercultural Dimension: To offer strategies that foster greater understanding and tolerance of diversity.

Interdisciplinary Team: To integrate under the regenerative culture banner, a variety of professionals, knowledge, and perspectives.

Service and Community Learning: To reinforce the motivation to give back, learn, trust, and collaborate as part of a strong community.

Critical Thinking: To offer experiences and reflections to provide participants with tools to consider and analyze their reality in the era of fake news and disinformation.

#Our Impact

We work on health and wellbeing through social justice and regeneration activities, and also our CRAFT program, which aims to improve people’s lives. We strive to make our social environment safer for all. As a complement to this, we teach about healthy consumer habits and sustainable production models in all of our programs, understanding that the global economy is tied to the responsible exploitation of natural resources, and our responsibility to the conservation and regeneration of the environment.

We grant inclusive education, focused on its quality, by offering programs and activities with opportunities for all collectives involved. We work for the visibility and empowerment of minorities and people with disabilities to help their voices reach as many people as possible. In addition, to achieving gender equality and women empowerment, we fight for an inclusive usage of language.

Internationally, we strive to help the local communities we work with. We pay fair wages to all our partners, no matter what part of the world they work in. This is a just contribution to a much-needed redistribution of wealth.  In addition, we brought hundreds of pieces of clothes, medications, tools, and materials to Cuba and Morocco, during our programs. We understand that an international alliance is needed for global development, and those alliances need to be fair for all their participants. Only by collaborating will we reach our goals.

During our many programs in Granada, we have always strived to bring this education to families that could not afford it. We worked with associations such as ALFA or Fundación Escuela Solidaridad, which foster people of all ages, especially children, who seek a second chance to make their lives better. We work with collaborators from these associations, empowering them with the chance to prove to themselves and others their capabilities. This allows us to introduce some of them to their first work experience, in which we are more than happy to guide them.
